Meet Member of the Band, Arianna Reyes: Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, and self-proclaimed Geek Girl

Member of the Band

Similar to a pod of whales or a pack of wolves, a group of gorillas is called “a band.” In this blog series, we’re going to introduce you to members of our band—engineers, technical recruiters, PMs, designers, and more, who make up the most important asset of Gorilla Logic…our talent! And while we Gorillas, as we like to call ourselves, are each entirely unique in our own ways, there is one common thread that unites us all. We like to call it “being the best you,” at work and at play. It’s kind of our thing, and is what makes us so great at what we do!

Arianna Reyes — Delivery Manager and Scrum Master

Arianna ReyesArianna is an incredibly talented Delivery Manager and Scrum Master here at Gorilla Logic, but her role at our company goes beyond her titles. She has been working in development for almost 15 years, having spent the last three working for Gorilla Logic. We are so happy to have her as a part of The Band!

Ready to find out what helps Arianna “be the best you?” Let’s dive in, shall we?

Arianna was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, to the east of the capital, in an area that is well known for education and arts. It’s where the National University of Costa Rica is located. The area is full of restaurants and galleries and shops where you can walk around the city. Arianna’s favorite part of San José is the contrast of the urban setting and the classical Costa Rican greenery all around.

When it comes to her career, Arianna likes to be able to explore her many interests and make a positive impact at the place where she works. This kind of atmosphere is what initially attracted Arianna to Gorilla Logic and plays a large role in why she wants to stay here. She loves that there are so many ways in which she can make positive contributions to the organization. She likes to get involved with company initiatives and even likes to make up her own, and Gorilla Logic embraces that.

‘Being the best you’ at Gorilla Logic

Arianna ReyesArianna says that she is at her best when she is helping others be at their best, and that can take many forms.

Outside of work, Arianna owns a game store. As a very avid gamer, she loves board games, card games, and video games. And also, because she is passionate about people and helping people, she turned that interest into creating inclusive gaming communities and after school programs, using games as a way to build genuine connections between people.

Arianna is also currently studying to be a pastry chef. Part of why she thinks she does it well is because she also uses it as a way to connect with people. She finds it to be nurturing and a very profound way to express who she is in a way that allows her to connect with others.

Arianna’s passion for helping people translates to what she does as a delivery manager and scrum master. For Arianna, it’s not only about building successful projects or producing good outcomes for a client or a department, but also about finding a way in which her work allows her to connect with people, build better work environments, to understand what her fellow Gorillas’ strengths are, what makes them special, and how everyone can individually contribute to the overall success of Gorilla Logic by leaning into who they are authentically.

Finding Success in the Tech World

Arianna says that in order to be successful in the tech world, you must be a lifelong learner, first and foremost. Technology moves so fast, so you need to be willing to keep yourself updated and educated in many ways, and you need to be open to the fact that the things that you think you know are already changing, or will change tomorrow. You need to be willing to let them. You need to be excited about it! You need to have that curiosity mindset where you are always looking for ways to do things better ordifferently. You need the ability to fail graciously withinthat curiosity.

Arianna says that you also need the capacity to collaborate. You don’t build technology in the void; you build it with other people, for other people to use. So you need to be able to understand the mindsets of others, to empathize with them, meet their needs, and make your’s known.

Finding Success at Gorilla Logic

For Arianna, being yourself, as corny as it may sound, is the best way to approach the interview process at Gorilla Logic. That’s how you actually end up approaching your role at Gorilla Logic and is something that you need to be able to own. Embracing your uniqueness and authenticity is what really is valued here. It’s what helps you make a difference and be your best self.

We take great pride in the community we’re building here at Gorilla Logic. Check out our Careers page to learn more and apply today!
