Angela Marcela Jerez Olago — Scrum Master

Angela is one of our amazing Scrum Masters here at Gorilla Logic. She has a wide range of experience from IT, to Backend, to now as a Scrum Master. Angela is an avid reader, a Marvel fanatic, and loves to cook. We are so happy to have Angela as a part of our Band!

 

Angela Marcela Jerez OlagoWhere’s your hometown? I am from Bucaramanga, Colombia!
Favorite place you’ve traveled to? Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
How many years have you worked in your field? I worked 4 years in IT, 8 years as a Backend Developer, and 5 years as Scrum Master/BA.
Best advice you have received personally or professionally? You shouldn’t be humble or hide your achievements, show them! They are the results of your effort be proud of them.
How do you spend your free time? I love to read (Novels or material to study), enjoy cooking, and working out.
If you could travel back in time to any period in history, when would it be?I would like to travel back to know Jesus the Nazarene, having the possibility to talk with him face to face. I would like to know what really happened hearing it from the source. I have even read some books related to it, called ‘Caballo de Troya – J. J. Benitez’ strongly recommended.
What is your guilty pleasure TV show? Any Marvel show or series!
What made you want to work at Gorilla Logic? One of my friends that works at Gorilla told me about the culture, values, and how much Gorilla cares about all of their employees, and I thought I definitely want to be a part of Gorilla! Fortunately for me, I was able to land a position here, and now I am more than happy to be a member of the band!
What is your most used tool in your office? Evernote. I love having a to-do list of my tasks per day, and I love even more when I can mark them as “done.”
Something that your LinkedIn profile couldn’t tell us? I usually cry watching movies.
Who are the biggest cheerleaders in your life? Every single member of my family!
What was one of the most rewarding leadership positions you have had? I think all of them. I always try to leave my mark and bring the good things with me to my next position, I’m always looking for way to improve and learn more!
Best advice when heading into an interview? Be positive always and keep calm.
Best advice when meeting with a client? Always use active listening
What qualities make someone successful in the tech world? Definitely, being a team player, proactive, empathic, and open to constantly learning something new
